JOY KIRVEN  |  CEO

Joy has been in education for over 15 years.  She informs and helps Pre-K-12 educators on how to implement technology to increase student engagement.  She has had the pleasure of learning from students with both high- and low-incidence disabilities in settings ranging from general education classrooms and deaf education inclusion classrooms. Joy has her BS in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas Woman’s University, Denton, TX.  As a lifelong learner she attends several staff developments, technology conferences, and is currently working on various technology certifications including cybersecurity and cloud.

 

She’s been a presenter at technology conferences & staff developments in Texas specializing in Google Apps for Education including TIA for Denton ISD, GooCamp for Leander ISD, and the Texas Curriculum Conference of Aldine. She’s also a certified Intel Teach to the Future Educator, has served on Denton ISD’s Child Development Center Advisory Committee, PTA Board Programs Chair,  McNair Elementary Social Committee Chair, and served on an Education Improvement Council for Denton ISD for multiple years. As a Remind Connected Educator she helps increase communication among administrators, educators, parents of students, and members of the community.

Joy has been an integral volunteer in multiple organizations, including:  McNair Elementary Social Committee Chair and Talent Show Coordinator, Dallas Children's Charities, Dallas Margarita Society, Kidswing Golf Tournament Benefiting Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, Denton Parks Foundation, Cross Oaks Elementary School, Teach Denton Ambassador, Denton Public Library, TechWeek Dallas, University of North Texas Journalism School Hackathon Facilitator, Denton Youth Basketball Coach, United Way of Denton County-Tribute Entertainment Committee Member, and Born 2 Be Free Fashion Show Committee Member.

 

Currently Joy is actively involved as a Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) Board Member/Hospitality Chair at Strickland Middle School in Denton ISD, Denton Young Professionals Board Member/Social Chair, Cumberland Presbyterian Children's Home Events Volunteer, United Way of Denton County Events Volunteer, Board Chair of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Denton County, and is a Brazen DFW Founder's Committee Member.
